The human Bible, it's little better than US Weekly.

Despite the strong Protestant influence in small town Bon Temps, supernatural beings are present and things like manipulation, orgies and murder take place almost regularly. So why do all these terrible things happen in a small town in Louisiana? In an article written by Paola Marrati, he discusses Adele Stackhouse, Sooky's Gran, who says she feels that vampires and humans are God's people. This is one of the first mentions of religion in TrueBlood. The opening credits prepares us for this.
The credits of TrueBlood consists of many scenes representing sex, death and human interaction. Juxtaposed with these images are scenes of typical southern Pentecostal churches. Placed between a snapshot of a decaying fox and a snapshot of sex scene we see a baptism and a sign that says "God Hates Fangs". These scenes really capture the basis of the show: a mix of real life and religion with supernatural aspects and death. For example, at the end of season six at a town meeting in a church the humans meet to discuss the benefits of a vampire protector to ensure their safety. TrueBlood often mixes these elements of religion or politics to make the show more realistic to viewers. The aspects of religion are prominent in every season. In season one for example Tara arranges for an exorcism for her mother and seasons five and six are very focused on the Vampire Bible.
